At Zai Lab, we understand and appreciate Environmental Protection, Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance (ESG) matters for many reasons. It supports our mission, makes good business sense, and helps our culture continue to thrive as a safe, enriching, and diverse workplace that allows each of us to do our best work, every day. From day one, we committed to being a responsible corporate citizen.

In 2021, Zai Lab published our first ESG Report, laying the groundwork for how we strive to act on our commitment to both human and environmental health. In 2022, we have taken significant steps toward measuring our current social and environmental footprint and we are beginning to establish trustworthy goals around ESG so we can build a sustainable pipeline around the world.

With the guidance of a third-party materiality expert, we conducted our first materiality assessment to help us identify, understand, organize, and prioritize ESG themes, opportunities, and risks. The results of which informed the trajectory of our sustainability initiatives and built a strategy to gain our stakeholders’ Trust for Life. This report, which we are calling our 2022 Trust Report sheds light on our sustainability progress and highlights key areas of our focus to help people triumph over disease and health disorders by acting right now.

At Zai, we understand our biggest contribution to society is made through our ability to drive progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), specifically centered on the third goal of Good Health and Well-Being. We communicate how we create better outcomes for employees by using Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and provide transparency of our operations using standards outlined by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
